STEP 2.0
IFPW Foundation continues its role as a collaborative donor to this
impactful change management and leadership program, along with USAID,
The Global Fund, and Gavi. STEP empowers supply chain leaders from the
public sector in LMICs and MICs.
IFPW’s members continue to strongly support the private-sector coaching aspects of STEP with J&J, MSD, Pfizer
and Sanofi participating from our Manufacturer members and with Alliance Healthcare, Cencora and Zuellig
Pharma supporting from the Wholesaler membership.
A STEP 2.0 implementation was just completed in India and planning continues around 2 offerings in Nigeria
for 2025:
1. IFPW Foundation will co-finance a course that will be included as part of a broader project between Gavi
and the Nigerian government focused on expanding drone utilization in healthcare (specifically the public
health system) to reach underserved populations. Partners include Zipline, Pfizer and UPS Foundation.
2. A woman-centric STEP 2.0 course is being organized with Empower School, our implementing partner,
with the workshop scheduled for the week of January 6th. The implementation will focus on
primarily female participants, facilitators and coaches as much as possible.
A course in Kenya is also being considered for 2025 as the country’s medical supplies authority is being
revamped.
In addition to funding STEP implementations, IFPW Foundation is now
offering private sector coach recruitment services for other donors’
implementations, and continues to develop facilitators and co-facilitators
from the private sector to ensure program sustainability and expanded reach.

Fight the Fakes Alliance (FtFA) continues to raise awareness of the prevalence and dangers associated with
substandard and falsified medicines (SFs), and to share information on how to address and prevent the problem.
IFPW serves on the Executive Board of the organization and Chris Goetz
(IFPW Executive VP) was elected as one of the Vice
Chairmen for 2023-24 in support of the Alliance’s strategic and governance activities.
A new FtFA secretariat has been engaged in Geneva and the
